Welcome to KSM SOLAR
A PV solar mini rail is a compact, high-strength aluminum profile used to secure solar modules to metal roofing structures. Its defining characteristic is its short length and segmented application—rather than running continuously across the roof, mini rails are installed as individual sections at each attachment point, providing a low-profile, material-efficient mounting solution.
Direct Rib Attachment: Mini rails are designed to mount directly onto the raised ribs of trapezoidal or corrugated metal roofs. They are secured using thread-forming screws with integrated sealing washers that penetrate the metal rib.
Point-Specific Support: Unlike standard rails that span multiple feet and support several modules continuously, mini rails provide support at discrete points. Each rail section typically supports one module at a specific attachment location.
Load Distribution: The system transfers module loads (gravity, wind uplift, snow) directly into the roof structure at each attachment point, distributing forces efficiently without requiring long, continuous structural members.
High-Strength Aluminum Alloys: Mini rails are manufactured from structural aluminum alloys, most commonly AL6005-T5.These heat-treated alloys provide:
High strength-to-weight ratio: Excellent load capacity with minimal material weight.
Corrosion resistance: Natural oxide layer protects against weathering.
Anodized finish: Many rails feature an anodized surface treatment for enhanced durability and appearance.
