Welcome to KSM SOLAR
This mounting solution utilizes clamps designed to grip the raised trapezoidal ribs of metal roofing profiles. The system provides a stable foundation for PV modules by distributing loads onto the structural ribs while maintaining the weatherproof integrity of the roof.
Load Distribution: The clamps are designed to transfer the solar array loads (gravity, wind uplift, snow) directly into the raised ribs, which are the primary structural elements of the trapezoidal roof deck.
Low-Profile Top Interface: The top of the clamp typically features a flat mounting platform, a threaded stud, or a T-slot channel for attaching either mounting rails or, in rail-less configurations, the PV modules directly.
Profile-Matched Base: The base of the clamp is engineered to match the specific geometry of the trapezoidal rib's top surface. This includes:
Flat Top Clamps: For ribs with a flat, horizontal top surface.
Width-Specific Designs: Clamps are sized to match the width of the rib's top surface for maximum contact and stability.
High-Grade Aluminum Alloy: Clamps are typically die-cast or machined from corrosion-resistant aluminum alloys (e.g., 6005-T5 or 6061-T6), offering a high strength-to-weight ratio and compatibility with aluminum or steel roof sheets .
Stainless Steel Hardware: All bolts, set screws, and fasteners are stainless steel (SUS304 or SUS316) to prevent galvanic corrosion .
EPDM Protective Pads: The underside of the clamp (contacting the roof) is fully lined with UV-stabilized EPDM rubber. This:
Protects the roof's paint or coating from abrasion.
Creates a watertight seal between the clamp and the roof.
Provides a high-friction surface to resist movement.
Prevents galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals .
