Welcome to KSM SOLAR
The Raised Square Tube Mounting System is a robust and versatile solution designed for solar PV installations on metal roofs where height adjustment and non-penetrative attachment are priorities. Utilizing heavy-duty clamps to secure the system to the roof seams, this system employs galvanized steel or aluminum square tubes as the primary support structure. This configuration elevates the solar array above the roof surface, allowing for optimized tilt angles, improved rear ventilation, and clearance for roof penetrations or uneven surfaces.
Key Features:
Elevated Design (Square Tube Riser): Incorporates vertical stands or posts that raise the square tubes and the PV array above the roof plane. This elevation provides flexibility in tilt angle and ensures ample airflow beneath the panels for cooling.
High Load Capacity: The combination of heavy-gauge clamps and structural square tubes (typically 40x40mm, 40x60mm, or similar) provides exceptional strength, making this system ideal for regions with high wind uplift or snow loads.
Modular & Adjustable: The system is highly customizable. The height of the stands and the tilt angle of the square tubes can often be adjusted on-site to accommodate different roof geometries and shading requirements.
System Components:
Metal Roof Clamp (Seam Clamp): A two-piece aluminum or stainless steel clamp designed to grip the standing seam of the metal roof securely. It features set screws or compression mechanisms to lock onto the seam without causing damage. A threaded stud or bolt protrudes from the top for attaching the next component.
Elevation Standoff / Pedestal: An aluminum or galvanized steel post that connects the roof clamp to the square tube. This determines the height of the array. Some designs integrate this with the clamp or the tube mount.
Square Tube Cross Rail: A horizontal structural tube (square or rectangular profile) that spans across the elevation stands. This is the primary rail onto which the solar panels are mounted. It can be oriented parallel or perpendicular to the roof slope.
Tube Mount Bracket / Saddle: A connector that secures the square tube to the top of the elevation standoff. This bracket often allows for angular adjustment to set the final panel tilt.
Panel Mounting Rails (Optional): In some configurations, short mini rails are attached to the square tubes to provide a standard channel for module clamps. In other designs, clamps are designed to attach directly to the square tube profile.
Mid & End Clamps: Standard aluminum clamps used to secure the solar PV modules to the underlying structure (either the mini rails or the square tubes themselves).
Grounding Components: Integral bonding hardware (e.g., grounding clips, setscrews, or copper wire) ensures the entire metal structure is electrically bonded and safely grounded.
