The Mini Rail Solar Mounting System is a lightweight, high-strength solution designed for installing photovoltaic (PV) panels on various types of metal roofs. Unlike standard rail systems that use long, continuous rails, this system utilizes short rail segments or direct-attach profiles. This design minimizes the number of roof penetrations, reduces installation time, and provides a sleek, low-profile aesthetic while maintaining structural integrity against wind uplift and snow loads.

  • Waterproofing: Equipped with EPDM rubber seals or neoprene gaskets on all roof attachments to ensure a watertight seal around fastener points.

System Components:

  1. Metal Roof Bracket (L-Foot/Standoff): A stainless steel or aluminum bracket contoured to match the profile of the metal roof (e.g., trapezoidal or corrugated). It attaches to the roof purlins via the roof sheet valleys or crests.

  2. Waterproof Seal: A pre-attached EPDM rubber gasket that compresses against the roof surface to prevent water ingress.

  3. Mini Rail (Short Rail): A short, lightweight aluminum rail (typically 300mm - 1000mm in length) that attaches to the L-feet. It features integrated channels for module clamps.

  4. Mid and End Clamps: Used to secure the solar panels to the mini rails. Made from aluminum with stainless steel bolts.

  5. Grounding Hardware: Integrated grounding clips or washers are often included to ensure proper electrical bonding between the panels and the rail system, eliminating the need for separate grounding wires in many cases.
