Welcome to KSM SOLAR
An angle aluminum tripod ballast system is a non-penetrating mounting solution designed primarily for flat roofs. Its defining feature is the triangular (A-frame) structure fabricated from high-strength aluminum angle profiles, which provides exceptional stability and load distribution while supporting solar modules at an optimized tilt angle, all without penetrating the roof membrane .
Non-Penetrating Attachment: The system relies entirely on gravitational ballast (typically concrete blocks or ballast trays) to resist wind uplift and overturning forces, eliminating any roof penetrations and preserving the integrity of the waterproofing membrane
Triangular Structural Efficiency: The tripod geometry (triangular frame) is one of the most stable structures in engineering. It efficiently distributes wind and snow loads through the frame and down to the roof surface, reducing stress on individual components
Angle Profile Construction: The frame is constructed from aluminum angle sections—L-shaped profiles with two perpendicular legs. These sections provide inherent rigidity in multiple directions and offer convenient mounting surfaces for both ballast and module attachment.
Optimized Tilt Angle: The height differential between the front and rear legs creates a fixed or adjustable tilt angle (typically 5° to 35°) that maximizes solar energy yield based on site latitude
